My name is “LMC” Lisa Marie Coppoletta and I have been teaching at ACC as an adjunct professor in the Communication Studies Department since 2007.
My background is in coaching intercollegiate forensics (Speech and Debate) in the private and public university settings.
I appreciate the diversity of our ACC student population. ACC’s focus on pedagogy is rewarding. I am passionate about reinforcing my students’ self-concepts to prepare them for the job market in various communication contexts, particularly public speaking.

Thank you for visiting my Adjunct Faculty Association (AFA) President blog.
I have been a dedicated advocate for adjunct faculty, actively involved with the AFA to enhance adjuncts professional standing and financial compensation. I was heavily involved representing adjuncts during the ACC SACS accreditation process and successfully championed efforts to prioritize adjuncts for Digital Navigator Positions within Micro-Credentials Programs.
With a strong commitment to equity, negotiated adjustments to the QEP budget, ultimately achieving fairer hourly pay rates for adjuncts. I also have substantial experience in navigating ADA compliance challenges within higher education, ensuring an inclusive environment for all.

Why I Became an Avid Enthusiast of Ham Radio: A Journey Sparked by the Texas Winter Storm
Visit my QRZ Ham Radio webpage for more information.
One of the main reasons I embraced ham radio is its critical role in emergency communications. During disasters, when cell towers are down or overloaded, ham radio operators can serve as invaluable links to first responders and affected communities. I wanted to be part of that network, contributing to a system that empowers individuals and communities in times of need.
Joining the ham radio community has been a rewarding experience. From local clubs to online forums, I’ve met people from all walks of life who share my passion for communication and preparedness. These individuals are not just hobbyists; they are dedicated to training for emergencies, participating in drills, and even volunteering their time during crises. The camaraderie I've found within this community has been inspiring and has made this journey even more fulfilling.
Getting my ham radio license was a significant milestone, but it’s just the beginning. I’ve immersed myself in learning about radio technologies, emergency protocols, and disaster preparedness. Each new skill I acquire not only enhances my capabilities as an operator but also reinforces the importance of being ready for any situation.
My journey into the world of ham radio has transformed my perspective on communication and preparedness.
